Bush - State of the Union

jimnyc on Jan-24-2007

Thank you very much. And tonight, I have a high privilege and distinct honor of my own — as the first President to begin the State of the Union message with these words: Madam Speaker. (Applause.)In his day, the late Congressman Thomas D’Alesandro, Jr. from Baltimore, Maryland, saw Presidents Roosevelt and Truman at this rostrum. But nothing could compare with the sight of his only daughter, Nancy, presiding tonight as Speaker of the House of Representatives. (Applause.) Congratulations, Madam Speaker. (Applause.)

Mike Tomlin

jimnyc on Jan-23-2007

Mike Tomlin, former defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, has been signed to a 4 year deal to be the new head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. As a huge fan of the Steelers, I’m still a bit unsure of this decision. I was really rooting for Ken Whisenhunt (signed with Cardinals) or Russ Grim, but they did with Tomlin just as they did with Bill Cowher, sign a basic unheard of defensive coordinator at the age of 34. Let’s hope that Tomlin does as well.

Chicago Bears Vs. Indianapolis Colts

jimnyc on Jan-22-2007

Got the game that I picked, not that it was awfully hard. I think this is going to be a great game. Of course it could be lopsided either way but if both teams come to play it could be great. If Indy’s D plays like they did 2 weeks ago, and Peyton is on, they’ll be right in it. Chicago’s D will always be there, it all comes down to whether Rex can handle the big game or not. In my opinion, the games rests squarely on his shoulders. They have a tremendous RB but he’s going to be stuffed all day if Rex can’t go downfield. See inside for my pick!

9/11 Conspiracy Theories

jimnyc on Jan-21-2007

Believe it or not, there are still many out there that believe 9/11 was an inside job, or perpetrated by our own government. I think that’s a bunch of horse shit but that doesn’t stop them. Proof is given in direct rebuttal, all theories that I have seen have been thoroughly debunked, but that doesn’t stop them.

Random thoughts on the world…

jimnyc on Jan-21-2007

Iran’s nuclear facilities should be eliminated, even if that means by force. Saddam is a goner and I thoroughly enjoyed watching him swing in that video at least 500 times. I heard his buddy was so lucky to just swing. Hillary announces bid for 2008 presidential bid, which most of us were aware of since about 2000. Let the troops fight properly and watch terrorism go down. I still love Cosmo Kramer, even if he is a bit racist.

Who am I?

jimnyc on Jan-21-2007

I’m nobody. I’m just a part time PC fixer guy and part time bum. I was born and raised in Central, NJ. Got married when I was 25, turned 26 3 days later, and have been married 12 years since. So that makes me 38 for you mathematics majors out there! After NJ, I’ve had brief stints in Virginia and Georgia, lived in Queens, NY for 2 years, Bronxville and then Westchester County, NY.

I’ve never been ‘huge’ into politics but that changed after 9/11.
