What really grinds my gears

You know what’s really bugging me today? If you don’t know I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia. We tend to be very Republican, at least we did until we started having a mass migration of Democrats leaving the city due to the incredibly high taxes and corruption in city government.

Naturally, they don’t think to themselves, “Hmmm… all this corruption and taxation after all this time is from the poor policies of a Democrat government that has ruled unchecked for the past 50 plus years.” No, of course not, that would make way too much sense wouldn’t it?

Instead, they move out of the city, leaving the former city of the American Enlightenment and cradle of freedom, a complete and utter cesspool of ignorance, drugs, and murder. But when they get out of the city and get away from the evils caused by bad government, rather than actually voting for government that works, they decide to continue voting the same way they always have! They end up destroying the suburbs, jacking up taxes in those areas and making them generally unpleasant for the person.

Yesterday, I went around trying to get a petition signed by some Republicans. So I saw some guys working as movers and asked if any of them were Republican. Obviously they werent because they started ranting about President Bush, complaining about how Republicans were trying to take their money and one about how President Bush sent his son overseas to fight in a war. And then they said “I bet you thought you thought you were just talking to some dumb movers.” and I am just walking away stunned at the complete and utter ignorance of these people.

I had no preconcieved notions of them. But after that statement I was just thinking to myself “Well I think you are just some idiot movers, now.” I mean seriously, you oppose the political party who actually wants to give you your money back and are so dumb you think they are taking it from you by reducing taxes?? You are angry at the President about sending your son to Iraq? Um… Hello?! It’s a volunteer military! You’re son volunteered to join up and kudos to him. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have such an ignorant father and yet still do the right thing. Luckily, my father is very intelligent. My father would realize that if was sent to Iraq in the military, it would be because I volunteered for the job.

But seriously, what is it with these people? You whine and complain about the very problems you vote for? You move away and continue voting for the same exact practices that destroyed the previous area you lived in. And you have learned absolutely nothing from any of this? How do people lives like this?

And that my friend’s is what really grinds my gears.
